We are a bakery that does good!

Hello, we’re good. A part of our proceeds goes to buying rice for the elderly living in poverty here in Hong Kong.

Elderly poverty in Hong Kong is an invisible but very real social challenge.

According to the Hong Kong Poverty Situation Report for 2019, 1 in 3 elderly here survive on less than US$385 monthly. With little to spare after rent, utilities and medical expenses, food is always the first sacrifice. We have to date sent 3.7 tonnes of rice to our food bank partners, ensuring that 56,000 meals have been served.  

It is our vision to establish a kitchen where we bake delicious treats with the elderly, providing them with a steady source of income, a sense of community and purpose.

Till then, we purchase rice on a regular basis for our charity partners who support them.

May we leave no grandparent behind.

Hello, I'm Karen

I dedicate my work to my beloved 嫲嫲 (grandma) and 爺爺 (grandpa), the stars are different without you.

Since our launch in 2019, Karen has to date baked some (amongst other baked goodies) 1500 cakes, 8000 cupcakes and 40,000 cookies. This has enabled The Good Cake to support the well-being of the elderly community in Hong Kong through our rice donations to our charity partners, who in turn prepare meals daily for those in need.
