Well because I am all the way in New York! I was accepted in the Professional Fellowship Program, sponsored by U.S. Department of State, and organised by National Committee on U.S.-China Relations. It has been 2 weeks since I got here and o. Time. Has. Flown!
Our fellows this year have such big hearts - with representatives from Mainland China, Mongolia, Taiwan, Hong Kong - advocating for human rights of indigenous people, employment inclusivity for people with disabilities, education, child protection, elderly poverty alleviation...
We have been prepping for this 5-week fellowship for more than a year now, and we kicked off in DC no less - hearing from funding raising experts - fund-raising in changing landscapes, starting dialogues on difficult subjects - drilling down to the fundamentals, and importantly embracing partnerships and creativity to stay agile - to keep our causes not merely afloat but sustainable.
I am so glad to tell you that I am now at my residency with Older Adults Technology Services (OATS) from AARP / Senior Planet - with the most welcoming people, all with one mission in mind - closing the digital divide for all older adults here in the US. Stay tuned for exciting updates!
